VDMR1219NHD is designed to replace the Original Equipment (OE) unit including the OE flywheel. This kit includes a dual mass replacement flywheel which converts the clutch system to a solid mass flywheel (SMF). Changing from a dual mass flywheel (DMF) to a solid flywheel (SMF) increases the reliability of your clutch system and allows the flywheel to be machined for longer life. However you might experience slightly more noise or vibration compared to a DMF clutch system. Designed and manufactured to replace the clutch system installed as Original Equipment, a Heavy Duty replacement clutch kit features a torque capacity increase due to a higher clamp load (typically 20% increase compared with original equipment (OE). DMR vs. DMF Flywheels


Dual Mass Flywheel Replacements (DMR) move the damping system from the flywheel to the clutch disc/plate. This returns the flywheel back to a conventional solid mass flywheel and the driveline dampening to the clutch disc.

To effectively dampen driveline noise and vibrations a multi rate (MR) clutch disc is used in DMF conversion kits (DMR). This MR clutch disc uses a torsional damper with separated first and second stage dampers. The dampener is tuned for low torque low angularity dampening as well has high toque, high angularity dampening.

Note: as dual mass replacement/conversion (DMR) clutch kits do not as effectively dampen driveline noise or vibration an increased vibration and noise might be detectable especially at low RPMs. However, this will not damage the vehicle’s driveline.

This clutch kit comes with a parts and labour warranty period of 1 year or 20,000 kilometers (whichever occurs first).
