The X-Trail is a five-seater SUV; the “X” in X-TRAIL refers to X-treme (Extreme) sports, the “TRAIL” part is Nissan trying to relate this SUV to some off-road capability. 

The X-Trail’s personality isn’t particularly athletic; instead, it embraces the sense of a larger crossover. It trades some agility for plushness, a feeling reinforced by the complete drivetrain setup. It’s a good drive when you’re in a cruising mood. Unfortunately, the engine dislikes revving since it is harsh. It feels ponderous off the line, pushing a portly figure.

PHC produces a Dual Mass Replacement (DMR) clutch kit for this application which gives owners the option to replace their factory Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) with a more reliable cost-effective option.
A Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) is made up of two flywheels that work together to decrease vibrations using dampening springs. It helps to prevent transmission damage, reduces noise, isolates engine vibrations improves shifting comfort. Dual Mass Flywheel Replacements (DMR) move the damping system from the flywheel to the clutch plate. This returns the flywheel back to a conventional solid mass flywheel, resulting in greater reliability, better thermal dynamics, cost efficiency and increased ability to handle higher torque.

VDMR2779N-CSC is designed to replace the Original Equipment (OE) unit, this kit includes a dual mass replacement flywheel which converts the clutch system to a solid mass flywheel (SMF).  However, you might experience slightly more noise or vibration compared to a DMF clutch. Manufactured to replace the clutch system installed as Original Equipment, a PHC standard replacement clutch kit is the reliable choice. Note: As dual mass replacement/conversion (DMR) clutch kits do not as effectively dampen driveline noise or vibration an increased vibration and noise might be detectable, especially at low RPMs. However, this will not damage the vehicle’s driveline.
 
This clutch kit comes with a parts and labour warranty period of 12 months or 20,000 kilometers (whichever occurs first).
